The device for measuring the strain of steel beams

This device is used to obtain the strain under loading and calculate the applied stresses.
Measuring the strength of materials and providing guidelines for designing structures requires measuring the yield stresses in them. Measuring these stresses directly is a difficult task, and one of the methods used to measure stress is measuring strain and deformation in materials.
The test device consists of two iron beams with different sections. Both beams have a fixed support that prevents it from moving in all directions and rotating. The beams are graduated so that the place of entering the force can be measured.

• Gravitational loading mechanism on beams with a fixed end with the ability to change the distance from the support
• Clear Plexiglas housing to protect strain gauges from impact and dust
• Measuring the change of location with a mechanical gauge with an accuracy of 0.01 mm

• 2 strain gauges to measure the strain
• Hardware and software with the ability to calibrate strain gauges and connect to a computer through USB port and transfer data to Excel software
