Sharpie impact test 150 joules

This device is used to determine the impact resistance of metals and check the effects of heat on them.
The impact test is designed to obtain the amount of energy necessary to break objects due to impact loads. This energy can represent the malleability of the metal, which means that the higher this energy is, the softer the object is, and the lower it is, the more brittle it will be.
The device consists of a pendulous hammer, a strong base and a place to place the sample. The hammer has the ability to rotate around its axis. A hammer release lever and a safety lever (in order to reduce possible risks) are installed for the device.
By using the encoder installed on the device and the software, the student is able to see the angle of the pendulum before and after the impact.
