Journal bearing

Journal bearings or sliding bearings are types of bearings that work based on the existence of a relatively thin layer of oil between the bearing and the journal (rotating axis inside the bearing).
The existence of the oil layer prevents the contact of metal with metal and prevents the rubbing and wear of the machine parts and also reduces the heat caused by the movement of the machine parts. The range of application of journal bearings is very wide. Crankshaft bearings and piston rings in a car engine must work for thousands of kilometers at high speeds and variable loads.
The test device consists of a bearing and a shaft driven by a high-speed motor. The bearing is freely placed on. To measure the pressure in different parts of the bearing, 16 plastic tubes are installed on it.
